A Special Prayer

I was looking for something a few days ago in my nightstand. I came across an old Bible that I've had since high school, and this discovery brought to me so many memories. I flipped through the old, worn pages, and found many notes written, and many passages highlighted. They represented a spiritual journey at one point in my life. But it was what I wrote on the very first page striked me. It was a prayer--a very daring, yet beautiful prayer. Thanks to one of my high school friends, Elizabeth Elliot became one of my favorite authors. Many of her books were based on real events that have unfolded throughout her life. Yet her unshaken faith have remained solid. This prayer has helped me for many, many years. It's about time I would share it with you, may it encourage you in your walk with Jesus, like it has for me.

"Lord, I give up my own plans and purposes,
All my desires and hopes,
and accept Thy will for my life.
I give my self, my life, my all utterly to Thee
to be Thine forever.
Fill me and seal me with Your Holy Spirit.
Use me as Thou wilt,
send me where Thou wilt,
work Thy whole will in my life
at any cost, now and forever."

Rosina, I know we didn't get to hang out too much while at FFC, but I sure do enjoy reading your blogs and getting to know you thru them :-) Thanks for sharing, and encouraging, and for your honesty, especially your confession of a stay-at-home mom :-) Love, Tina Marie (and Paul Franks, too)!

About me

I am a wife to a loving, thoughtful husband, a mother of two little angels. Because of my husband's job, we have relocated from New Jersey to Los Angeles three years ago. I miss everything back East..NYC, Gray's Papaya, the subway..but know that LA is where God wants us to be right now. His grace is sufficient; I can't live through a day without depending on Him. My love affair with photography began when I was sixteen years old, when I saw a photograph taken by my cousin at South Seaport in NYC--it was a light switch turned on somewhere inside me. When I came home, I dove into photography. Since then, I've always had a burning desire to pursue photography. It was unfortunately cut short due to choosing another field of study during my college years..not until I became a stay-at-home mom and a God-given opportunity early this year, I was able to finally reunite with this passion..and the rest is history.
