Alfajores, finished

So these are the completed Alfajores. South American (more Argentine) delicacy, filled with dulce de leche (caramel.) When they are frozen, they tast so much better.

I decided to tweak the recipe a little.

I filled them with Nutella instead.

I don't even want to know..but I'm guessing they are at about 100 cal. each.

It's ok. Merry Christmas to me.

Alfajores

Yes. Alfajores.

These are foreign, the tastiest, yet most sinful cookies you will ever consume.

You think you can just stop at one.

Nope, it is not possible.

So..I got the recipe from my MIL. This morning, I thought I had sometime to kill, so I actually got my hands dirty, got my measuring equipments out, and made these.

They are only half way done, and it took me about three hours.

When they are completely done (which, will be sometime next week,) I will show their glory.

Then, should you become interested in the recipe, let me know.

Try this--it's DELICIOUS!

If you are a normal, I-have-no-time-for-anything mom, you are like me. For every day my husband's home, I have to twist my brain and try to wring out some kind of new recipe to put on the dinner table. Still, most of the time we end up with the usual: sausage pasta, salmon with frozen veggies, pasta with Bolognese sauce.

When I do have about 10 minutes to look up new recipes, I usually do not proceed for the lack of ingredients. Well, when you are not looking for something, that's usually when you do find something.

This is a recipe I found from Wondertime (click here.) I will not even take the credit for this, although I did attempt to do so. The ingredients are extremely handy; the steps are I-could-not-believe-it simple. Try it. Maybe you will put this on your dinner table tomorrow night.

It's so good, even Caleb loved it.

About me

I am a wife to a loving, thoughtful husband, a mother of two little angels. Because of my husband's job, we have relocated from New Jersey to Los Angeles three years ago. I miss everything back East..NYC, Gray's Papaya, the subway..but know that LA is where God wants us to be right now. His grace is sufficient; I can't live through a day without depending on Him. My love affair with photography began when I was sixteen years old, when I saw a photograph taken by my cousin at South Seaport in NYC--it was a light switch turned on somewhere inside me. When I came home, I dove into photography. Since then, I've always had a burning desire to pursue photography. It was unfortunately cut short due to choosing another field of study during my college years..not until I became a stay-at-home mom and a God-given opportunity early this year, I was able to finally reunite with this passion..and the rest is history.
