Some (much needed) updates

Life has been crazy, in an out-of-control way lately. I feel like I have been so out of tune, with myself, and with my much-needed prayer life. I also realized that for those of you faithful readers who really know us, the Waszajclan, have not been informed too much of our life here in Los Angeles. I just wanted to take this time to thank you for always checking up on us (through this blog, or our Facebook page), for thinking of us, and for praying for us. Your friendship and constant thought have kept us feel loved, and we are grateful for every one of you.

Now, some serious, much needed updates (no pictures this time, I promise):
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Benny has been and still is a part of the Los Angeles Police Department. He has been working in the Hollywood division for the past few months. He enjoys working with different people, and he has learned many more things since he was transferred from South LA. He has been working four days during the week and has had three days off. While most people looked forward to Fridays, I looked forward to Mondays. I cannot remember the last time I looked forward to the weekends.

As out-of-norm as it may seem, he adjusted to his 5pm-2:30am work days well. When he was able to come home right away, usually he would physically be in our room by 4am. He then would sleep until 11ish and leave again by 3pm. Then the whole cycle began again.

Yes, he has seen a few celebrities. Kirsten Dunst, for example, had spoken some sarcastically nice things to him when he and his unit did not arrive on time a few months ago. She was bombarded by some paparazzi and was not a happy camper. He also worked on Academy Night, but was driving around, doing some kind of crowd control duty. I did ask him to sneak a camera inside his sleeve so he could take some up-close-and-personal photos of, say, Matthew Mcconaughey or someone like that. It didn't happen, of course. Other than that, he's seen Lindsey Lohan a few times, and drove by the house where Lauren Conrad (from The Hills) lived. Most of the time, he dealt with every-day people like you and me. I know, it's not what you thought.

Starting next month, he will be working for another unit in the Hollywood division. Which means, he will be working from 11am-9pm from Sundays through Wednesdays. Which also means, I can finally look forward to the weekends again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Caleb and Abby have been doing so great. They are experts in one thing--growing. Caleb is going through a language explosion phase--he talks and actually makes sense. Although his sentences do not contain too many verbs or prepositions (such as, "Kakab talk Nana"), usually we understand him. The part which drive both his Dad and me crazy is that he has to listen to his praise and worship CD we bought for him once he gets into the car. The poor CD has been played so much that it starts to act up. Still, Caleb overlooks the fact that we nearly want to pull our hair out listening to those songs over and over and over and over again. He wants it, he gets it.

Abby, our princess, has been a challenging little thing. She has learned how to open a drawer and would pull out every single pair of socks from it. She would put everything in her little mouth, including her brother's dirty shoes. She is also as fast as lightning; she only needs 1.5 seconds before a disaster is created--from grabbing a full cup of coffee to pulling a plate filled with hot lunch. Anything within her reach, she will attempt to grasp.

She is also almost one year old. Just a few more weeks left. May 17th.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, me. My life has been boring. Nothing big to talk about. Besides picking up photography again since high school, and besides trying to stay somewhat sane with having my mother here, life is mundane. Although, one thing I am very much looking forward to is our trip to New Jersey in just a few more weeks. I have been counting down since the day we left last year. We are looking at leaving here around the 23rd of April, and will return home around the 25th of May. About four weeks of pure vacation--talk about not having to worry about the munchkins (hello Nana and Papa), just simply enjoying the endless company between family and friends, sleeping in, eating, late night coffee talks and tons of Asado sessions. That's what I am looking forward to.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is Friday night again. Here I am, sitting in my living room, alone, once again. It is a much-needed solitude; Mom is spending her weekend at a friend's, the kids are asleep. I can't ask for more. For now.

Your vacation sounds SO nice! I am very happy for you guys that you get to visit with family and friends for such a long time. Let me know if we can do anything for you when you're gone. Also, we'll have to get together with you guys sometime after Benny switches to his new shift...maybe dessert and the kids can play or something like that.

About me

I am a wife to a loving, thoughtful husband, a mother of two little angels. Because of my husband's job, we have relocated from New Jersey to Los Angeles three years ago. I miss everything back East..NYC, Gray's Papaya, the subway..but know that LA is where God wants us to be right now. His grace is sufficient; I can't live through a day without depending on Him. My love affair with photography began when I was sixteen years old, when I saw a photograph taken by my cousin at South Seaport in NYC--it was a light switch turned on somewhere inside me. When I came home, I dove into photography. Since then, I've always had a burning desire to pursue photography. It was unfortunately cut short due to choosing another field of study during my college years..not until I became a stay-at-home mom and a God-given opportunity early this year, I was able to finally reunite with this passion..and the rest is history.
