Let the coundown begin
It is exactly one week from today, I will be busy packing.
We leave exactly one week from tomorrow morning. We know that this week is going to fly through, just like any other week. Yet, not fast enough.
I am excited, like someone who has been locked in a small room, is finally free. Even if it's just for a month. It's a vacation that we all need--Benny, the kids, and I.
Nevertheless, there is a part of me that is not looking forward to this coming week--there is so much to do, I don't even know where to start.
You see, packing for vacation for one month is hard. Packing for vacation for one month for us plus two kids is challenging.
Think clothes, diapers, socks, car seats, the stroller, blankies, shoes...and that's just the first part of this traveling battle.
And then there is arriving at the airport, keeping the two kids entertained while waiting to board, assuming the flight is on time, boarding the plane; next, the agonizing 4 1/2-hour flight time. I used "agonizing" because I already know, in my oh-I'm-so-sure mind, we will have a hard time with Abigail, the princess who cannot sit still, who wiggles her way out of any tight embrace, who has a need to touch anything and everything in sight, and who desires to roam free. At all times.
I am so tempted to call her doctor and ask for his permission to feed her Benadryl. In the end, I know I will not call. I will just feed.
Meanwhile, Benny and I may need a large dose of this
And maybe this, too.
Once we arrive, I still have to deal with a three-hours-ahead time zone change, and adjusting to a new bed time...maybe it's just me, but there are many events to look forward to... right?
Let the countdown begin!!

you are too funny!
just so you know, my hubbers is a big fan of drugging kids before flights . . . so feel free to say it is doctor advised! :)
I hope you have a GREAT time!
I love that post! I think that is exactly how I would be feeling about trying to travel on an airplane with my boys, couldn't even imagine. But, you WILL survive (especially with the coffee and Tylenol in your system) and have a wonderful vacation, I just know it! And just think, 4.5 hours (x2) isn't that much time compared to a whole month of vacationing.
