Practice
I am not a big fan of the title, "photographer". I am a fan when the title refers to the real thing. Someone who is established, someone who has been doing this for a long time, and someone who has years of experience. As for me, this word feels a bit unfit. Actually, too much unfit. It's like when someone finally decides to pick up some pots and pans to cook, and being called a chef.
I love the art of photography. I love taking pictures. But I don't feel entitled to be called a photographer. I am not qualified to be called such a thing. Which is why, I was a bit hesitant when I brought my camera to a friend's wedding rehearsal yesterday.
But I had to. I needed to practice. There were many times when I wished I was invisible--so I could walk up to the stage and really get some unique, once-in-a-lifetime shots. I chose not to, because I really wasn't the official photographer. Besides, all I had was my little humble Rebel Xti body with an 85mm lens. Not to compare with the many 5Ds I saw at the rehearsal. Everyone has a 5D now..which was another reason why I felt so insignificant.
Nevertheless..I did get some good ones--and I enjoyed more the process of practicing, rather than the actual outcome, result. I hope you will enjoy browsing through these photos; I pray that you can tell this couple's love story through these photographs.
Paul and Ashley--
...who were brought up by their loving, God-fearing parents...
...who have invited families, friends, to celebrate this special day with them...
who...are having a huge wedding party...
..who are also having the cutest nephew/niece to be a part of this special day...
..and also having the most beautiful music...
are quite ready for the big day!!! While documenting this special event, it was also fun to get a bit distracted by the innocence of children...
But then again, who wouldn't??
...and..at the end...the perfect conclusion of this evening was accompanied by an Italian dinner, which was hosted by the groom's father, who has, along with his wife, prayed for his sons (seven of them) all his life...
...along with some laughters, and a good time.
Happy wedding day, Paul and Ashley!!

Looks like they had an awesome and very special day with friends and family. They seems so happy with each other.
I know what you describe. Sometimes I just feel to take a picture, but I am afraid to ask a stranger on teh street.
Abd it doesn't matter which equipment you have. It matters the endresult, which can be with a better camera worse.
You captured this ery beautifully!
These are simply perfect, Rosina! Thank you for being brave and taking these shots of Paul and Ashley. It's such a beautiful thing to see all that you've captured, and I'm sure today was just perfect. Like I've told you before, you're SO good at this!!!
Such clear shots-- was it all natural light or were you bouncing flash?
And Rosina, I think you managed to be invisible after all-- and grabbed some great candids of a special evening. These are great!
'They' probably don't know how to use their 5Ds as well as you use your XTi! ;)
