i ♥ faces--Before and After

Wow..so much has changed since I first held a DSLR--back in February of this year. My next door neighbor, who is an avid photographer, kindly lent me his Canon 20D. It was love at first sight. I loved how the photos came out--the DOF, the clarity. Then I used one of my friend's old, very old version of Adobe Photoshop--and that was the rebirth of this passion (I said, rebirth, because I first fell in love with photography when I was 16).

It's so funny to see, how much I have come..here's a picture that I took of my daughter. I don't even remember what in the world I did in terms of editing. I just remember I played around on Photoshop with it. And yes, I was so proud of the result:

..and this (now I look at it, I am slightly embarrassed..)

And these two are the (hopefully) new and improved, taken from a wedding that I was blessed to shoot just two weeks ago:

For the second set, I really took the time and fixed/edited them, using my still-not-too-expensive PSE. I know I will look at these two in a year or so and laugh at myself again...but this is what photography is all about--you learn and improve as you shoot away.

I really love your pictures Rosina : ) I love the first one of the baby and your husbands head. So sweet. Who cares if it was perfect editing! The relationship is so adorable and sweet : ). You have improved a great deal! I have loved getting to know you thru the months! I am sure your wedding edits turned out perfectly!

I love both of your after photos! Lovely for sure! Sometimes as long as you love the photos, that is all that matters, even if they are not "perfect" :-)

Oh wow - I can see a vast improvement. Isn't that amazing?! I love your first photos too, but you can really tell that you were thinking like a photographer in the newer shots.

Thank you so much for sharing a bit about your journey with us!

I can't say anything bad about any of them; they all look great =)

But I admit, the newer ones are pretty awesome.

Ok, I love your "before" pictures and think your current pics are wonderful. I completely understand what you're saying: I really truly hope that one year from now I'll look at my current stuff and think "oh, I can totally improve that NOW!" ;-)

About me

I am a wife to a loving, thoughtful husband, a mother of two little angels. Because of my husband's job, we have relocated from New Jersey to Los Angeles three years ago. I miss everything back East..NYC, Gray's Papaya, the subway..but know that LA is where God wants us to be right now. His grace is sufficient; I can't live through a day without depending on Him. My love affair with photography began when I was sixteen years old, when I saw a photograph taken by my cousin at South Seaport in NYC--it was a light switch turned on somewhere inside me. When I came home, I dove into photography. Since then, I've always had a burning desire to pursue photography. It was unfortunately cut short due to choosing another field of study during my college years..not until I became a stay-at-home mom and a God-given opportunity early this year, I was able to finally reunite with this passion..and the rest is history.
